EMG 40TWX

The EMG 40TWX is a versatile bass pickup that combines two independent tonal options: a single-coil and a humbucker, both enhanced by EMG's X Series preamp for increased dynamic response and clarity. The single-coil mode features the JCSX pickup built with ceramic and steel magnets, delivering a rich, warm tone, while the humbucker mode utilizes the popular CSX (ceramic steel) dual-coil for a big, aggressive sound with a pronounced mid-range. The X series preamp provides a more dynamic range and increased headroom, maintaining a traditional string-to-string balance. Additionally, the EMG 40TWX includes an Active Tone Control (VLPF) that attenuates high frequencies, resulting in a noiseless pickup with a classic EMG sound that bridges the gap between active and passive pickups. The pickup comes with EMG's solderless wiring for easy installation at home and fits an extended housing of 4 inches (102mm).
